Faucet Water Filter For Better Quality Water
When it comes to water filtration, the most commonly used is probably the faucet water filter. There are several brands, PuR, Brita, Culligan, Instapure, Crystal Quest, Waterpik and just about every other maker of water filtration. The faucet water filter is a great invention that has several advantages over countertop and under sink filters. They are:
PuR has a large line of filters and is one of the most accessible faucet filter brands. PuR offers features like an indicator light to let you know when it time for filter replacement and 100 gallon life. PuR water filters come in two basic styles; vertical and horizontal. You can choose from three finishes, white, chrome and black. The horizontal FM-9400 is a 3 stage filter, comes with the indicator light and costs $49. The vertical FM-3700 is a 3 stage system, has a gauge to tell you when to change the filter, and costs $39. Each filter comes ready to use and installs simply without tools. PuR water filters are some of the best faucet filters available. Second to PuR is the Brita brand. Brita water filters comes only in the vertical style. They offer the basic OPFF-100 for $18.99 which comes in white. The Brita FF-100 comes in white, chrome and black/chrome combination and costs $29.99. The Crystal Quest brand boasts a filter life of 2000 gallons and a unit cost of $34.99. They use a 5 stage filter. If their claims are true then this would be a great bargain. They do charge $10 more for their chrome finish. The Waterpik F-8 Faucet Mount Filter is rated for a 100 gallon life and costs $27 to $33. This system is tested and certified by NSF International. The F-8 features an indicator light to let you know when to change the filter. Culligan makes the FM-15A which is really a bargain. It filters down to .05microns and is tested and certified by NSF. Culligan is known for their water softeners and whole house water filters and is a reliable brand. At $15.49 you can hardly go wrong with this one. Neither Aquasana nor Everpure offer a faucet water filter, surprisingly enough. They have just about every other type but not faucet filters. |
